School Safety and the SRP

Your child's safety is always a priority at Town Center.  In addition to the check-in/check-out process, displayed badges and keeping playground doors locked, CISD teachers and administrators practice the Standard Response Protocol when taking action to keep students safe during a threatening incident.  This action plan developed by ILoveYouGuys.org is the basis for our students' monthly drills to ensure everyone knows how to evacuate, take shelter, 'lock down' or 'lock out' effectively.  Please review the following one page handout for parents or learn more by exploring the SRP section of ILoveYouGuys.org.

This is the Coppell ISD School Safety Quick Link found on their front page.

2013-2014 PTO Board

PTO BOARD CLASSIFIEDS The 2014-15 PTO Board Nominating Committee has been working with current board members to decipher which positions will be open next year. It is always a challenge to figure out who is leaving, who wants to move to a new position and who wants to nominate a friend as a partner for one of our many 2 person jobs.

About half of the positions have a nominee in place from last year's board and word-of-mouth recruiting. Here is a list of positions that DO NOT have a definitive nominee. PLEASE CONTACT CHRISTY RAMIREZ (mcahome@verizon.net) OR GINA MOTE(ghmote@verizon.net) RIGHT AWAY IF YOR WOULD LIKE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT JOINING NEXT YEAR'S BOARD!

SECOND VP, FUNDRAISING: Oversee the fund raising activities of the PTO and serves as the Operations lead for major fundraising events. This is a significant leadership postion on the board, but the work is distributed throughout the year and there is a lot support and strong returning board members who impact this position. A calendar of the year's events is available.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR: Collect and enter volunteer data after Meet the Teacher. Help coordinate volunteer sign ups with event coordinators for special events.

ADVERTISING COORDINATOR/S: Sell advertising packages (website, directory, yearbook) to local businesses. Works with advertisers to ensure we have collected payment and have appropriately sized artwork. We have an established sales distribution list and package information which will be a tremendous to help to our next advertising volunteer!

FALL RAFFLE: Plans and distributes raffle tickets for the raffle that takes place at the Fall Picnic (last day of Sept.).

PARLIAMENTARIAN: Attends all meetings of the Executive Board and the Organization and shall advise the presiding officer on questions of parliamentary law and methods of procedure when requested. She/he shall oversee the Nominating Committee. She/he shall attend all school board meetings and provide a report of recent school board issues at PTO Meetings.

PROGRAM COORDINATOR: Works with the teachers and administration to bring in supplemental education programs (such as HighTouch HighTech). This is primarily a home-based job.

SECRETARY Records minutes of all meetings, takes attendance at all meetings. She/he shall handle all correspondence deemed necessary by the Executive Board.

SPRING FUNDRAISING EVENT – CARNIVAL: Acts as one of the 3 Chairs for the Spring Fundraiser (currently the Hoedown). Works with the Fundraising VP/Operations Chair and Auction Chair to organize the carnival portion. Leads a committee of volunteers in planning the food and activities for the event. The event will be in late April so this is a second semester job.

SPRING FUNDRAISING EVENT – AUCTION: Acts as one of the 3 Chairs for the Spring Fundraiser (currently the Hoedown). Works with the Fundraising VP/Operations Chair and Carnival Chair to organize the auction portion. Leads a committee of volunteers to procure and gather auction items to be auctioned in our Silent Auction during the Spring Fundraiser. The event will be in April so this is a second semester job.

WRITE-A-CHECK COORDINATOR: Coordinate annual “Write a Check” campaign. Coordinator(s) will plan campaign, work with parents for matching fund contributions, and ensure proper communication exists for campaign dates and statutes.

TCE PTO SHOP

Groceries and TCE

NEW AT TOWN CENTER- We Are Collecting Vista Ridge Receipts

If you shop at Vista Ridge, you can help TCE. Send your receipts (or copies of your receipts) to school with your student. Local schools are competing for cash prizes. Every dollar spent at Vista Ridge equals one point…..including the food court and movie theatre! Help TCE earn cash for Technology and other school needs….Just by turning in your Vista Ridge receipts. Thank You!! Turn in any receipts dated after August 1 of this year. A box will be placed in the school to turn in your Vista Ridge receipts.

Shop at Tom Thumb? Join Tom Thumb's Good Neighbor Program by completing this form and returning it at the grocery store: Tom Thumb Form Last Year we raised $900 from this program!

What are eBoxTops?

eBoxTops, like physical Box Tops, are worth 10¢ each for your school.* However, instead of clipping these Box Tops and sending them into your school, eBoxTops are awarded electronically to your school earnings at http://www.boxtops4education.com/ and will be included in your school's next Box Tops check amount.

How can I earn eBoxTops?
You can earn eBoxTops by shopping through the Box Tops Marketplace or the Box Tops Reading Room. Each participating retailer at the Marketplace and the Reading Room has agreed to donate a certain number of eBoxTops for every qualifying $10 purchase a Box Tops member makes through http://www.boxtops4education.com/ .

PINK YOPLAIT LIDS

Pink Yoplait Lids are being collected for their Save Lids to Save Lives Campaign in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. For every lid we turn in, Yoplait will donate 10 cents to Susan G. Komen. We will collect lids up until December 10! There is a pink bin in the cafeteria. Last year we turned in 898 lids!  Can we surpass that number?! Bacon says, “ our possibilities are limitless and we can do it”
